Williston, ND Hosts Week of the Young Child Festivities
Williston is celebrating the Week of the Young Child April 21 - April 25..The annual event with the National Association for the Education of Young Children, recognizes the importance of young children, their families and their early educators.
Week of the Young Child is all about promoting fun, learning, and the growth of young minds. This year's theme is "Celebrate Early Learning". A number of local companies and sponsors collaborated to offer Williston free, family-friendly events every day this week.
Monday, April 21 is Monday Night Heroes at the Williston Rural Fire Department (by the Raymond Center) from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Meet local firefighters and police officers, discover how they protect our community, and get an up-close look at the fire trucks and police cars.
Tuesday, April 22 is Movie Time Tuesday. Check out a free movie at T&J Agnes South Theater, 111 Main Street. They'll be showing Madagascar 3 at 4:00pm and 6:00pm. Admission is free, but bring cash to buy concessions.
Wednesday, April 23 is Workout Wednesday at the Williston ARC, with free admission to the waterpark from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
Thursday, April 24 is Bowling Thursday at the Strike Zone. Kids get to bowl one free game from 2:00pm to 6:00pm.
Friday, April 25 is Kids Day Out Friday at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Free admission, and the Williston Basin Skating Club will be selling concessions. The circus theme for this year's Kids Day Out will be used to decorate every booth. Voting for your favorite is encouraged, because a traveling trophy and bragging rights will be awarded to the winning team.
There will be many booths with local resources for families, including the Williston Korner Lions with "Sight for Kids". A sensory area is a new addition this year.
