WAVA Art Exhibition in Sidney, MT – Meet the Artists Feb 7!
The MonDak Heritage Center in Sidney, MT is excited to showcase an exhibition featuring works from members of the Williston Area Visual Artists (WAVA), on display through February 14, 2025.
Head over to the MonDak Heritage Center, and don’t miss the artist reception on February 7th from 4-6pm. It’s a great chance to not only check out the amazing art but also meet the talented local artists behind it.
For this exhibition, many of the pieces were inspired by WAVA’s quarterly challenge, which pushes artists to work within specific guidelines—like using only 1-4 colors or painting a certain subject. It wasn’t an easy task, but the artists loved the challenge and came away with a deeper understanding of color theory and creative limitations. “It was harder than we thought, but worth it!” said the artists.
The show features artwork from talented members like Beverly Talian, Clif Sundt, Kathleen Sinclair, Phyllis Sederquest, Daphne Clark, Haley Clark, Onesti Krieger, and Nancy R. Norvell. The pieces cover a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolor, stained glass, colored pencil, mixed media, and acrylics.
Attend the free reception on February 7th from 4-6pm! There will be refreshments, great art, and lively conversation. The MonDak Heritage Center is open Tuesday-Friday from 10-4 and Saturday from 1-4. For more details, call (406) 433-3500. The MonDak Heritage Center is always free to visit!

WAVA is all about creating a supportive and inspiring space for artists of all levels. They meet every 3rd Wednesday at 7pm at the James Art Center classroom for business and educational sessions. Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, everyone is welcome to join the fun.
The group also holds class nights at the James Memorial Art Center in Williston on the 1st and 4th Wednesdays from 6pm (September through May), offering a chance to improve your skills and network. Plus, they host the Plein Air on the Prairie event, where artists paint outdoors in the summer. Membership is just $25 a year!
