September is National Suicide Prevention Month. Suicide prevention starts with everyday heroes like you. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - North Dakota Chapter invites you to join your friends and neighbors at Williston's Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, September 7.

This cause holds a special place in my heart because I’ve lost friends to suicide, which is why I’m deeply honored to return as MC for the second year in a row. This event is a powerful reminder of the importance of suicide prevention and mental health, offering a space for people to share their personal stories and connections. It’s a day to come together, raise awareness, support one another, and honor the memories of the friends, relatives, neighbors, and coworkers we've lost.

One unique aspect of this walk is the honor beads participants wear. While they may seem like a simple accessory, these beads carry deep significance. Each color represents a personal connection to the cause, helping attendees find others who share similar experiences. They serve as a quiet, yet impactful way to show what each person is carrying with them on this journey.
