The team at Mondak Animal Rescue is facing a critical situation and urgently needs your support. So far this February, Mondak has welcomed 26 dogs and 21 cats into their care – and that's just the beginning. Rescuing animals is a never-ending mission.

MDAR is here for the abandoned, mistreated, homeless, and even those who once had loving homes but needed to be surrendered. But they can't do it alone. If you have a passion for helping local animals, there are multiple ways to contribute. Consider adopting a pet in need or making a donation.

Right now, they're in urgent need of:
- Purina One puppy and dog food
- Paper towels
- Disinfectant wipes

Another impactful way to support the cause is by participating in the All Fur Love Woofstock Fundraiser on Saturday, February 17 at The Grand Williston Ballroom. This event plays a crucial role in determining how much MDAR can accomplish throughout the year for animals in our community.

The animal shelter has been a lifeline for many – from neighbors and friends to co-workers and strangers. They provide essential services such as spay and neuter clinics, vouchers, a food pantry for those in need, and assistance for animals at risk of euthanasia. Whether it's owner surrenders, injured, sick, or stray animals, MDAR is there for them all.

Proceeds from All Fur Love will directly benefit the animals. The expenses for each animal entering the facility, covering medical, food, and shelter, are substantial. Medical procedures, spays, neuters, and vaccinations incur costs ranging from $140 to $375 per surgery and $27 to $50 per animal, respectively.

The fundraiser promises an evening filled with a live auction, silent auction, cake auction, games of chance, food from 3 Amigos Southwest Grill and My Swirl, entertainment and more.

The event is currently accepting sponsors and donations. Every contribution matters. If you're unable to attend but still want to make a difference, consider donating a live or silent auction item. Your donations are not just welcomed; they are essential to the well-being of animals in need.

Individual tickets are $125. VIP table options are also available. For ticket information or sponsorship inquiries, please email or call 701-577-7387.

LOOK: Here Are 30 Foods That Are Poisonous to Dogs

To prepare yourself for a potential incident, always keep your vet's phone number handy, along with an after-hours clinic you can call in an emergency. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center also has a hotline you can call at (888) 426-4435 for advice.

Even with all of these resources, however, the best cure for food poisoning is preventing it in the first place. To give you an idea of what human foods can be dangerous, Stacker has put together a slideshow of 30 common foods to avoid. Take a look to see if there are any that surprise you.
