Big news! Nurses at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston recently got some well-deserved recognition with their first ever DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses®. This award is all about highlighting the amazing, compassionate care nurses give to patients and their families every single day.

National Recognition for Jami Murie

And guess what? Jami Murie has been nationally recognized as a DAISY Nurse Leader Award recipient for 2024! Jami, who’s the Director of Patient Care Services here, was celebrated for her outstanding leadership and her knack for jumping in to help wherever she’s needed.

A Heartfelt Nomination

One of her team members wrote an incredible nomination letter, calling Jami a champion of a safe and supportive work environment. They praised her for being a motivator, even on tough days, and for embodying everything a great nurse should be: kind, attentive, and always ready to assist.

About The DAISY Foundation

The DAISY Foundation, which started in honor of J. Patrick Barnes, celebrates nurses like Jami who make a real difference. Patrick’s family established the foundation after experiencing the extraordinary care nurses gave him during his illness. The DAISY Award is a way to thank nurses for their exceptional work, a gesture that’s close to their hearts.

How the Award Works

Nurses can be nominated by patients, families, and colleagues, and a committee at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston selects the awardees. Each honoree gets a certificate, a DAISY Award pin, and a beautiful sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, crafted by artists from the Shona Tribe in Zimbabwe.

The DAISY Foundation is all about celebrating nurses globally, from direct care nurses and nurse-led teams to faculty and students, and even those on medical missions. It’s all about showing gratitude for the incredible impact nurses have on the world.
