Summer Reading Kick Off

The Williston Community Library is going to kick off their “Color Our World” Summer Reading Program with a Bash on Thursday, June 5 from 4 to 6pm, and magician Jeff Quinn will captivate the audience with a performance from 6p to 7pm.  

Fun Activities

This event promises to be packed with activities for all ages, including face painting, yard games, and the chance to show off their skills at putt-putt golf. Suzie Q's Ice Cream Truck will also be on hand with sweet treats.

A Season of Fun

Williston Library Director Andrea Placher explained, “This summer, we invite you to embark on a journey of art and creativity, celebrating the many ways that art enhances our lives. Our program is designed to inspire and engage readers of all ages with a vibrant array of artistic opportunities. And remember, this amazing event is free to everyone in our community.”

Weekly Challenges

Throughout June and July, the library will host a variety of engaging and creative activities for children, tweens, and teens aged 4 to 16, with special programs for those aged 16 and up. Participants are encouraged to take part in the library’s weekly challenges for a chance to win prizes.  

LOOK: Popular children's books published the year you were born

Stacker compiled a list of popular children's books published every year between 1920 and 2021 based on librarian and teacher polls, top 100 roundups in media like Time magazine and the BBC, book critic reviews, interviews with children's book authors, and lists of award-winning literature for young readers.
