Did you know that back in 2006, some sixth-graders in Williston wrote a heartfelt letter to North Dakota politicians, urging them to make the chokecherry the state fruit? Their efforts paid off, and since 2007, we've been celebrating the North Dakota Chokecherry Festival in their honor. Over the years, this celebration has grown into a fantastic, family-friendly event that thousands of people look forward to each year.
This year's festival is happening on Friday, August 9, from 4 pm to 8:30pm, and Saturday, August 10, from 8:00 am to 4 pm at Davidson Park. Come for live music, great food, craft and product vendors, train rides, story time, a silent auction and so much more. Parking is available at the Raymond Center, the library, or around the neighborhood.
