Region 8 Boys Basketball Comes To New Town

District 15 and 16 boys basketball has officially wrapped up, and the district champions along with regional qualifiers have advanced to the next level. Regional tournament action kicks off today, and we have our eyes on Region 8.  This regional tournament will be held at the New Town Event Center where 8 teams will meet to decide who advances to the state tournament. The event center in New Town is perfect for this tournament because it has great seating, lots of parking, and an event like this is the perfect opportunity to show families just how good our facilities are in this area.

Eight teams make up Region 8 this year including Powers Lake/Burke Central, Mandaree, Trenton, Stanley, White Shield, Divide County, Kenmare/Bowbells, and Williston Trinity Christian.

The opening round starts at 3:00 pm on Monday, March 6th with 4 games. There will be another day of action on Tuesday with 2 more games starting at 6:00 pm. Thursday features 2 more games with the championship game at 7:30 p.m.

There is a daily admission charge for those that attend.

If you are unable to attend the games, Titus Stenberg will have all the games on 660 KEYZ. Titus has a keen eye and calls a great game. He points out that each of the teams matches up fairly well, and they all have great coaches. Titus goes on to say that with the fanbase each team has, it should be another fun tournament.
