Ready to Fish? Join North Dakota's 2024 Fishing Challenge

Fishing in North Dakota is a fantastic way to enjoy the great outdoors! With its countless lakes, rivers, and reservoirs, there’s no shortage of prime fishing spots. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, North Dakota offers a variety of fishing experiences year-round.

From the excitement of catching walleye in the summer to the unique challenge of ice fishing in the winter, there’s something for everyone. Plus, fishing is a wonderful way to create lasting memories, just like the ones I cherish from my time as a kid, fishing with my uncle Alan.

North Dakota is home to a wide variety of fish species, and the fisheries department at ND Game & Fish works hard to stock waters across the state for angler enjoyment. To encourage exploration of North Dakota's fisheries, anglers can now take part in the Fish Challenge. Contest ends August 15, 2024.

How to Achieve the Fish Challenges

To complete the three Fish Challenges, anglers must catch, photograph, and submit a photo of each of 12 different fish types found in North Dakota. It’s a fun way to explore various fishing spots and test your skills across a range of species.
