Hi radio family, it’s your girl Mad Max. My weekend was pretty busy with pet sitting and checking out some great community events.

Friday Fun: Syttende Mai Celebration

I kicked things off on Friday at a Syttende Mai celebration at American State Bank and Trust. It was nice to see people come together to honor their Norwegian heritage and enjoy traditional treats. I even spotted Lyla Semenko, a former GM for our radio stations! (Read More: The Importance Of Youth Participation In Syttende Mai Celebrations)

Saturday Morning: Garden Art

Saturday, I started the day at the Peggy’s Pals Garden Art Festival at Bethel Home. This event has been going for over twenty years and it’s easy to see why - so many cute planters and yard decorations! Money raised helps those in the area who are battling cancer.

Next Stop: United Way Community Sale

Then I headed to the Raymond Center for the Williston Basin United Way Community Sale. I arrived after 10:00am, but word on the street was that the line was wrapped around the building at 7:30am. I caught up with Sabrina Ramey from United Way and she was all smiles about how the sale was going. I also ran into Marcia Benway Marketing Director for CHI St. Alexius who was volunteering at the silent auction table. (Read More: United Way Community Sale in Williston, ND May 17)

Lunch Break at Fluer

By then I was starving, so I met my friend Tina for lunch at Fleur Cafe, the new spot downtown. She went for the avocado toast, and I couldn't resist the strawberry banana crepes. So good!

Lemonade Day Fun

After lunch, I went back to the Raymond Center to check out Lemonade Day. The creativity of the kids blew me away! In addition to lemonade, there were baked goodies, jewelry and more at the Junior Market. I picked up a cute bracelet from Reegan and Brylee of R&G Crafting, and a couple of fun temporary tattoos from Eli. (Read More: Join the Fun: Williston, ND's Lemonade Day on May 17, 2025)

It was a busy weekend, but I’m so glad I got out and about. Thanks for looking at my pics. Until next time!
