One man is lucky to be alive after an encounter with a Bison in Yellowstone National Park. Check out this unbelievable video as the man is flipped upside down. Thankfully, he's recovering and alive.

Circumstances Around the Encounter

According to ABC World News Tonight, the tourist was thrown 8 feet into the air by the Bison who became agitated by the grandfather and his son, as they were taking pictures of the animal.

The video was caught on camera by a professional photographer by the name of Mike MacLeod, who captured this terrifying encounter at Bridge Bay Campground. The man and his grandson were reportedly about 100 yards away and began leaving when the animal stood up and began charging. The grandson was able to escape before the bison hooked the grandfather and flipped him into the air.

The Status of the Injuries

According to a recent report from CNN, the 65-year-old grandfather, Carl Isom-McDaniel, had successful surgery and is recovering. He suffered a broken femur and significant leg/hip injuries. He remained conscious and was in good spirits and even joking with bystanders while waiting for emergeny personal.
