Is North Dakota One Of The Most Hated Or Least Hated States?
North Dakota "nice" is a thing right? Who could ever hate us?
One thing is for sure, we are a punch line for a lot of jokes in some parts. Some states like Minnesota fail even to acknowledge that we even exist much of the time (maybe that's why we don't like Minnesota a whole lot, with the exception of their pro sports teams).
Other states like California don't even realize North Dakota is a part of the United States. No lie, I've met people from Hollywierd who think North Dakota is a part of Canada.
Well, our friends at Zippia recently conducted a survey on the most & least hated states in America.
The good news, the overall view of North Dakota from other states (if you care) is not one of hate. North Dakota came in as the 34th most-hated state in America. That still seems very high for a state that's known for helping its neighbor in need or even a stranded stranger. After all, we even have "The Peace Gardens".
Let's take a look at the other states around us and how they are liked by the rest of the country.
Montana is one of the least hated states in America coming in at #48. Maybe that's why all of California is flocking there.
Minnesota is nearly liked as much as Montana as it came in at #46. Despite treating North Dakota like a "redheaded stepchild".
South Dakota is the least-liked state in our region coming in at #26 as the most hated. I'm not sure what people have against "Great Faces, Great Places"? After all, who doesn't love Deadwood?
