It appears that the former Borrowed Bucks building and property have been sold.

According to a social Media post, the owners of Laughing Sun and the Craftcade in Bismarck, Colton and Samantha Shoults, have purchased the old Borrowed Bucks.

In the post, the Schoults went on to say how it's ironic that they went from closing down the old Borrowed Bucks in their 20s to now owning it in their 30s.

I spoke with one of the former Borrowed Bucks managers, and she told me she believes Bucks opened in Bismarck back in 1993. I know it was a favorite of mine back in the day as well.

Growing up in Grand Forks, my softball team or hunting buddies would frequent Bucks in Bismarck after tournaments or trips.

Bucks in Bismarck would close permanently in January of 2023.

What are the plans for the old Borrowed Bucks building?

We made a couple of attempts to reach out to the new owners for further comment, but they were unsuccessful.

We do know they plan to turn it into a concert and wedding venue in the near future, according to the social media post.

It's not known if they plan to keep the building as is or tear it down. This is only speculation, but the amount of work that has been done inside over the last couple of years, I'm betting the building will remain.

I also received confirmation from another source that the building will remain as is and will not be demolished.

We wish the new owners all the best in their new venture.
