If you're like me, you're probably binging a lot of different horror movies to get into the scary spirit ( I know it's only September, but let me have my fun).

Since we live in North Dakota, it's only appropriate that we watch some horror movies that are set right here in our state.

While there aren't a lot of horror movies based in North Dakota, there are a couple, and they're pretty creepy!

Horror Movies Set In North Dakota

1. Messengers (2007)

This movie stars Kristen Stewart, who is best known for her role in the Twilight franchise, and Dylan McDermott.

Plot:

The movie is set on a sunflower farm in North Dakota. Stewart plays a teenager who arrives at the farm with her younger brother. Soon after, the two start observing apparitions. Throughout the movie, they see a lot of terrifying paranormal activity. Throughout the film, Stewart tries to convince her family the place is haunted.

If you haven't seen this one, add it to your Halloween binge list!

2. Leprechaun

I have tried to watch this movie on several occasions but have not been able to get through the beginning. I get too creeped out and have to turn it off.

The movie was released in 1984 and stars Warwick Davis and Jennifer Aniston.

Plot:

The main character, Dan O'Grady, goes on a trip to Ireland, and while he is there, he steals a pot of gold. O'Grady returns to his home in North Dakota only to discover the gold belonged to an evil leprechaun.

Murder and haunting ensues.

There You Have It

Those are the only two horror movies I could find that were set in North Dakota. Feel free to send us a message and let us know if we missed any!
