Warning: A Lethal Creature Will Soon Invade North Dakota
As we get further into spring and closer to summer, we are starting to see more and more animals come out of hiding and hibernation.
I was driving down 9th Street in Bismarck, and could actually smell grass. It never occurred to me that the smell goes away in the winter. I was surprised. I thought to myself, "Oh yeah, this is what life and plants smell like. This is spring."
We've been going back and forth a bit with the temperatures this year, but for the most part, we're in the clear on snow.
Unfortunately, not all the creatures that come out in the warm weather months are friendly and adorable. Some are dangerous. Some are annoying.
A Deadly Creature Will Soon Be Active In North Dakota
They will come when you least expect it. You will never hear them coming. They will make your life miserable.
Yes, get ready for the return of the worst creature of all time.... the mosquito.
You might be surprised to learn this, but mosquitoes are one of the most deadly creatures on Earth. They carry all kinds of diseases, and according to the WHO, every year, 725,000 people die from mosquito viruses.

Sadly, these annoying pests will be returning any minute.
According to Mosquito Magnet, mosquitoes hibernate all winter, but they always come back with vengeance. There are actually 176 different mosquito species (all of them suck...get it)
They start to reemerge when temperatures hit 50 degrees Fahrenheit, and as you know, we've already consistently been hitting that temperature in North Dakota, so they're coming. Beware.
As a matter of fact, we are supposed to get some rain this week/weekend. I wouldn't be surprised if this weekend brings out the herd.
Stock up on your bug spray and get your little Tiki torches set up in your backyard; mosquitoes are back and ready to attack.
