“Right Out Of The Gate” – Some Changes This Year At The NDSF
"Right out of the gate" - see if you can guess what that means
Some people may think it relates to horseracing - I can kind of see that, except there is "no gate" to speak of. You have heard the term "Right out of the box" - that almost roundabout relates to what I was talking about with the first expression - both of them mean "From the beginning" or "From the start" - So the title of this story should really say...
..."Right before the gate" ( Security )
Some welcome changes to this year's North Dakota State Fair - let me first say that it has nothing to do with the 2024 NDSF entertainment listed below:
- Grandstand performancesMotley Crue on July 19, Turnpike Troubadours on July 21, Sawyer Brown on July 24, Thomas Rhett on July 26, and Lainey Wilson on July 27
- Free stagesJerry Frasier, a comedian and magician, on Stage 1 from July 19–22, and Michael Mezmer, a danger magician, on Stage 1 from July 23–27
- Other actsA Hard Day's Night, a Beatles tribute band, on Stage 2 from July 19–23, and Daniel Kosel & Madrona Road, a blues, country, and rock band, on Stage 2 from July 24–27
Enhanced Security
For the first time in the history of the North Dakota State Fair - excited fairgoers will need to walk through metal detectors BEFORE walking through the gates. According to kxnet.com Craig Rudland, general manager of the fair said “And we want them to be comfortable on the fairgrounds. So, we wanted to try these metal detectors, and I think people are going to appreciate that.”
Blink an eye, and you won't even notice the change, but safety is so important.
