Mother Nature flexed her muscles once again

Here is hoping that you had a safe and wonderful 4th of July weekend! I hunkered down with my two cats and attempted to fall asleep at around 11:00 pm Saturday while the sounds of booms and crackles of exploding fireworks went off. I was completely unaware of a different light show that dazzled the skies over Crooked Lake, North Dakota, the night before.

Ok, you know that old expression "It's not my first rodeo..." - this applies to me

Yes, I have seen a TON of fireworks in my lifetime; however, I have never experienced the true awe and beauty of the Northern Lights. I have no one to blame for this; I have lived in North Dakota now for over 14 years, and you think at one point I would have made the effort to take in Mother Nature's gift. So for now, I will share with all of you my friend LayCee and her one-two punch she viewed Friday and Saturday.

How does one top the Northern Lights?

Crooked Lake, North Dakota, is just 73 miles away from Bismarck, and this is where LayCee escaped to enjoy the holiday weekend, and wow, she couldn't have picked a better Friday and Saturday - Imagine capturing nature's incredible sky show, and then following it up the next night with a BANG ( literally ) - the imagination of HUMAN FIREWORKS........Check it out:
