Curious About Law Enforcement? Williston, North Dakota Offers a Front-Row Seat
Ever wondered what it’s really like to be a police officer? Do they actually eat that many donuts? Can you really get out of a ticket with a good joke? Well, now’s your chance to find out—minus the flashing lights in your rearview mirror.

The Williston Police Department Citizens Police Academy is back for 2026, and it’s your opportunity to go behind the scenes of law enforcement. This free 14-week program runs on Wednesday nights from April 1st to July 1st, providing participants with a hands-on experience in a range of topics, including DUI investigations, firearms training, defensive tactics, and SWAT operations.
Just think, this is your moment to channel your inner action hero (safely, of course).
Why Join?
Aside from the fact that it sounds incredibly cool, this program is designed to educate the community, build stronger relationships, and clear up common law enforcement misconceptions. So, if you’ve ever wondered why officers do what they do or just want a deeper appreciation for the men and women behind the badge, this is the perfect chance.
