What happens when you give kids a good idea, a table and a chance to run their own business?

You get the Williston Chamber of Commerce's Junior Market, a fun opportunity for young entrepreneurs to turn their creativity into something real.

The Junior Market gives kids in Williston, and the surrounding area, a chance to create and sell their own products, whether that's cookies, lemonade, stickers, cards, crafts or other homemade items.

More Than Just Selling Something

This isn't simply a day of setting up a lemonade stand.

Young entrepreneurs get to decide what they want to sell, figure out how to present their products, set up their booth and interact with customers. They also get to experience the pride that comes from earning money from something they created themselves.

For kids, it's a chance to take ownership of an idea and see where it can go.

They can build confidence by talking with customers, learn responsibility by participating in the event and discover what it's like to take an idea and turn it into a small business.

A Chance to Try Something New

Parents can also appreciate the low-pressure, community-focused environment.

The Junior Market gives kids a chance to explore creativity away from screens, participate in a real-world experience and try something new with the support of their families and the community.

There's no need to have a perfectly polished business plan. The idea is to give young people the space to experiment, learn and grow.

Vendor Spots Are Still Available

The Williston Chamber says vendor spots are still available for young entrepreneurs, but registration is limited.

The next Junior Market is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at the Williston ARC Meeting Rooms in Williston. Get your kids registered here.

Parents interested in getting their young entrepreneur involved can register through the Williston Chamber of Commerce's Junior Market registration page. It's a chance for local kids to create something, build something and maybe discover they have a little entrepreneur in them after all.
