Stockman Bank has been named the top bank in Montana on Forbes’ 2026 list of America’s Best-In-State Banks, a ranking based on consumer feedback and public reviews evaluating financial institutions nationwide.

The recognition, released June 17, 2026, is produced in partnership with Statista and is based on surveys of thousands of U.S. banking customers. It also incorporates publicly available reviews and evaluates institutions operating in 14 states or fewer, excluding online-only banks.

Stockman Bank ranked No. 1 in Montana, marking another year at the top of the statewide list.

The Forbes ranking assesses banks and credit unions on customer satisfaction, trust, financial advice, digital services, terms and conditions and customer service. Institutions must receive a minimum number of evaluations, with top-ranked banks averaging more than 635 customer responses.

Bill Coffee, chief executive officer of Stockman Bank, said the recognition reflects both customer trust and employee commitment.

“We are honored to be recognized once again as the #1 bank in Montana on the Forbes list of Best-in-State Banks 2026,” Coffee said. “This award is particularly special as it reflects the trust our customers place in us every day. It is also a testament to the dedication and expertise of our staff, who are committed to putting the needs of their customers and communities first. Our personalized approach to serving our customers, combined with innovative banking technologies, truly sets us apart from other Montana banks.”

The bank, founded in 1953, is Montana’s largest family-owned community bank and operates full-service branches across the state. It also offers wealth management, insurance services and digital banking platforms.
