Williston Chamber Launches ‘Policies & Pastries’ Series
The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce is rolling out a new program designed to give business leaders and community members a closer look at policy changes that affect their work.
The monthly series, called Policies & Pastries, replaces the chamber’s former Eggs & Issues events. Sessions will take place on the first Thursday of each month from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Teton Lounge at Williston State College.
The goal of the event is to provide a forum where attendees can hear directly from local industry experts about the challenges and opportunities they face, as well as policies under discussion at the state and local level.
The first Policies & Pastries will focus on business tax policy changes and what local businesses need to know as they navigate the murky waters of state and federal rules.
Coffee and pastries will be provided through sponsorship by Horizon Resources.
Future topics, according to the chamber, will focus on issues most pertinent to local industries, such as energy development and workforce needs. By offering consistent monthly meetings, the group hopes to create an ongoing dialogue between businesses, policymakers, and community members.
The program continues a long tradition of the chamber hosting informational series but is intended to provide a fresh format in a morning setting accessible to a wide range of participants.
