Helping Hands in Tioga: November 16 Benefit for Western North Dakota Wildfire Victims
In the wake of devastating wildfires that scorched thousands of acres near Ray and Tioga, community members are stepping up to aid those affected by the tragedy. A fire relief benefit has been organized for November 16 at the Tioga Community Center from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to help support families who have lost so much.

This event will feature both a silent auction and a live auction, and the organizers are actively seeking donations for these items. If you are interested in contributing or want more information, please contact Kelci Hanson at 701-641-2097.
All proceeds from the benefit will go directly to assist five families severely impacted by the wildfires:
- Daryle Holte: The Holte Family Farm was destroyed in the fire, and Daryle is now focused on rebuilding. He was able to save only two vehicles from the property.
- Jeffery Moe & Family: The Moes tragically lost their entire home, barn, and farm animals. Their lives were turned upside down as the flames consumed everything.
- The Karg Children: The Kargs had just moved into their new home this past summer. The house, however, is now uninhabitable due to smoke and structural damage.
- Ed Coppersmith: Ed heroically saved his horses during the wildfire but sadly lost his life in the process. He is survived by his two sons and his girlfriend, June.
- Nicolaas van Eeden: Nicolaas also perished in the wildfire. His wife, who is currently in South Africa, is expecting their first child, a baby girl.
This benefit is a chance for the community to come together and show support for these families during such a difficult time. Donations and participation will go a long way in helping our friends and neighbors rebuild their lives. Every contribution counts as the healing process begins.
