Williston North Dakota to Explore Community Grant Opportunities
The Tri-County Regional Development Council is inviting community leaders, business owners, and local officials to an upcoming open house focused on opportunities to strengthen communities through state and federal funding. The event, scheduled for April 16, will highlight the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, a key resource for communities looking to invest in long-term growth and improvement.

Williston Center for Development to Host CDBG Open House with Expert Guidance and Q&A Session
Hosted at the Williston Center for Development, the open house will run from 1:30 to 4:00 PM. The North Dakota Department of Commerce, Division of Community Services will lead the presentation, offering attendees a closer look at how CDBG funding works and how it can be applied to local projects. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to engage in an open Q&A session, allowing them to ask specific questions about eligibility, project ideas, and the application process.
The CDBG program plays an important role in supporting communities by funding a variety of initiatives. These include upgrades to public facilities, housing rehabilitation efforts, and economic development projects that primarily benefit low- to moderate-income residents. By helping to fund these types of improvements, the program aims to enhance quality of life while also encouraging sustainable community growth.
This open house comes at a strategic time, as the 2026 CDBG application cycle is set to open on May 28. Attendees will gain valuable insight into how to prepare competitive applications and align their projects with program priorities. Whether it’s a city planning a new infrastructure project, a county exploring housing improvements, or a business owner interested in community-focused development, the session is designed to provide clear guidance and practical information.

The purpose of the event is simple: to equip local stakeholders with the knowledge and resources needed to take advantage of CDBG funding opportunities. By fostering collaboration and providing direct access to state experts, the Tri-County Regional Development Council hopes to support meaningful community development across the region.
