And let’s be honest, the dust never seems to go away. But there are ways to fight back! Here are five ways to cut down on dust in your home:
- Check your filters and vents. Change HVAC filters at least every three months—or more often if you have pets. Regularly clean vents, too!
- Use an air purifier. This helps trap dust and pollen, making breathing easier, especially for allergy sufferers.
- Vacuum often. Every couple of days is ideal. Can’t keep up? A robot vacuum can do the work for you.
- Keep windows closed. Especially on windy days or when air quality is poor—this keeps dust and pollen outside where they belong.
- Ditch the shoes. The easiest way to track dirt inside? Wearing shoes indoors. Leave them by the door.
Spring cleaning isn’t the most exciting task, but with a few smart habits, you can keep your home fresh and ready for the new season.
