If you’re using a Colsen-branded fire pit to enjoy the cozy fall and fight the winter chill, there’s an important recall you need to know about. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), these alcohol-fueled fire pits can pose serious hazards.

One major concern is that the flames can be nearly invisible, leading to a dangerous situation called flame jetting when you refill the fire pit. This occurs when flames flash back to the alcohol container, causing burning alcohol to shoot out, which can injure anyone nearby.

Additionally, while using the fire pit, alcohol can splash, spill, or leak from the reservoir. This can result in flash fires that spread quickly and create flames that are much hotter than you might expect, putting you and your loved ones at risk.
