Celebrating 100 Years of Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue Live in Watford City, ND
Jazz enthusiasts, get ready to enjoy an unforgettable evening of music on Thursday, October 24, from 7-9 p.m. at Watford City High School.
Experience George Gershwin’s ‘Rhapsody in Blue’ like never before! This is the first new arrangement of the iconic piece since the original 1924 dance band version and the 1942 orchestral arrangement.
Expertly arranged by Matt Catingub, this exciting rendition features a special guest pianist and world-renowned soloist Jens Lindemann on piccolo trumpet. With a faster, swing-inspired beat, this big band version brings fresh energy to Gershwin’s masterpiece while honoring its timeless legacy.
The concert will also showcase the music of jazz legends Duke Ellington, Oscar Peterson, Nat King Cole, and more. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime event celebrating the 100th anniversary of one of the most iconic piano works ever composed.
