Babysitting: My First Job

When I was growing up, babysitting was the way to earn extra money. I started watching my younger brother when I was eight, and by 5th grade, I was babysitting for neighbors. I kept at it for many years, even after college. I don't remember if babysitting classes were being offered back then; I just learned from my mom.

Training the Next Generation of Babysitters

Now, hands-on babysitting classes are offered locally through NDSU Extension Williams County at 5218 141st Ave NW in Williston. Kids who sign up will learn the skills they need to become capable, responsible, and safe babysitters.

What You’ll Learn

The classes are open to youth ages 11 and up. Participants will earn a CPR/First Aid certification and learn about child development across different ages and stages.
