1st Annual Sink & Serve Cornhole Tournament
You may remember that in past years the Williston Korner Lions used to sell fruit as a fundraiser. This year they decided to step out of their box and do something different. They decided to hold the Sink & Serve Cornhole Tournament. It's Saturday, March 18th in the Multi-Purpose Building at the Upper Missouri Valley Fairgrounds, 519 53rd St E, Williston.
Registration starts at 11:30am/central time. There's an $80 fee per two person team. It's a tax deductible donation to the Williston Lions. The bags will fly at 12:30pm/central time. Enjoy food and fun with taco in a bag and beverages. You can pre-register in advance and walk-ins will be welcome the day of the event. Both teams and sponsors are needed for the tournament. Board sponsorships are available for $500.
Lions Club International is the oldest service organization in the Unites States. There are five international causes that they stand for. Childhood cancer, diabetes, the environment, hunger and vision. The Lions' motto is, "We Serve." So in addition to those causes they are here to serve the community. If you've seen a blue grill in town, that's The Williston Korner Lions. They do lots of grilling of sausage & pancakes, brats and burgers as community service.
Vision Screening is one more big thing the Williston Korner Lions do. They not only provide this service to the Williston community, but they also screen in schools. Once school starts, they take teams to screen all the grades in schools from Watford City to Stanley. And all the towns in between. For many students it's the only access they have to vision screenings.
The Williston Korner Lions also helps with city cleanup every year, monthly BINGO at Bethel, basketball tournaments and more. They serve many causes in the community. Money raised at the 1st Annual Sink & Serve Cornhole Tournament supports the Lions' missions. This is a fun and easy for people to contribute and for The Lions to fundraise.
